Description

This presentation is designed to provide nurse practitioners with the knowledge to effectively screen, diagnose, and treat adult patients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Attendees will learn practical strategies for identifying adults with ADHD through screening and diagnostic processes using validated tools.

We will also explore evidence-based approaches for selecting the most appropriate medication for patients, considering factors like comorbid conditions such as anxiety and depression.

The session will also cover how to effectively monitor patients on ADHD medication, how to assess treatment efficacy, and when to make adjustments to optimize therapeutic outcomes.

Additionally, participants will be provided with valuable resources to support their ongoing practice and enhance patient education.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the process of screening and diagnosing ADHD in adult patients.
  • Identify how to choose the most appropriate medication based on individual patient needs taking into consideration comorbid conditions.
  • Learn how to effectively monitor and adjust ADHD medication to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

By the end of this presentation, nurse practitioners will feel more confident in their ability to manage adult patients with ADHD in primary care.
