The joint injection workshop is designed to provide Nurse Practitioners with an understanding of blind injection techniques for the most common joints that can be brought back to practice. Participants will learn about patient selection and assessment, as well as the process of obtaining informed consent and educating patients about the procedure. The workshop will cover the necessary equipment and supplies needed for joint injections.The workshop will focus on the most common joints: the shoulder, knee, finger/thumb and elbow (time permitting). Participants will learn about patient positioning, identifying landmarks, and the proper technique for blind injection in each joint. Emphasis will be placed on skin preparation, local anesthesia, and needle insertion and injection technique.The workshop will also address potential complications that may arise during joint injections and their management. Participants will learn about post-injection care and patient instructions, as well as the importance of follow-up and monitoring.This will be a hands-on workshop so the participant feels comfortable bringing these skills back to their practice. The program will conclude with a recap of key points and a dedicated Q&A session to address participant questions and concerns.
