Canada’s healthcare system is rapidly digitizing. AI scribes are emerging as powerful tools to reduce documentation workload and enhance efficiency in primary care. At the same time, gaps in interoperability continue to challenge care coordination and contribute to administrative burden. Strengthening connected care is essential to addressing these challenges. This session will explore how connected care supports clinicians and insights from Canada Health Infoway’s AI Scribe Program.

Michelle Culverwell brings proven experience and a diverse blend of accomplishments in nursing, strategy and execution, change management, and EMR/EHR/HIS implementation across both public and private health care, nationally and internationally.
With a strong background in clinical engagement and digital transformation, she has played a leadership role in guiding clinical best practice and IT infrastructure towards improved workflows through decision support technology and best practice models of care. Michelle has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McMaster University, Hamilton Ontario and a Masters of Science (Physiology & Pharmacology) with a Minor in Health Administration from the University of Western Ontario.
A strategic and resourceful thinker, Michelle is known for formulating and leading collaborative initiatives that align clinicians, health system partners, and organizational goals. She has extensive experience managing complex projects spanning multiple divisions and functional areas, and is passionate about building strong relationships that foster adoption and sustain meaningful change.
Dominique Boston, RN (EC), MScN, Nurse Practitioner - PHC

Dominique began her nursing career in paediatrics, where she witnessed firsthand how digital health tools can transform clinician workflows and improve patient outcomes. She recently completed her Master of Nursing and Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate, and is now transitioning into her role as a nurse practitioner.
