Ovarian cancer is the most fatal women’s cancer. One in two women diagnosed do not live to see another five years. There is no screening or diagnostic test, there is no vaccine, and the pap test does not screen for ovarian cancer. Symptoms are vague, common and non-specific and it is diagnosed in advanced stages. This session will help equip nurse practitioners in Ontario with the knowledge and tools to play a greater role in ovarian cancer prevention.
