Tracy Gomes is a PMP-certified former IT management consultant who spent two decades leading high-profile projects. In her mid-40s, she began experiencing sleep issues, anxiety, heavy periods, unexplained weight gain, and declining energy—changes that began to affect her active lifestyle as a runner, long-distance cyclist, and dedicated fitness enthusiast. As a certified health coach, she applied every strategy she knew, but continued to battle severe menopause-associated symptoms without realizing what was truly happening. By her early 50s, the toll on her health ultimately cost her her job. It wasn’t until she discovered the Menopause Foundation of Canada’s website and she realized what she had been going through, and that there were effective, evidence-based options available. Today, through her work with the Menopause Foundation of Canada and the Ontario Health Menopause Quality Standard Advisory Committee, Tracy helps women prepare for this transition, access fact-based information, and have informed, empowering conversations with their healthcare providers.
