April 1, 2026 marked a significant and disappointing milestone for Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in Ontario. Despite clear expectations, the provincial government has not provided clarity on funding models to support NP care. This ongoing inaction creates uncertainty for NPs and, more importantly, limits timely access to care for patients across the province.
NPAO remains committed to amplifying NP voices and advocating for the full integration of NPs into Ontario’s healthcare system.
