    Leadership & Management 3
    Managing Business
    Start Date: Mar 10, 2025
    End Date: Apr 20, 2025 
    This 6-week online course teaches practical theory and evidence for managing clinical teams. It covers fiscal and operational needs, ideal for new or aspiring healthcare leaders. Suitable for acute care, community, primary health care, and long-term care, the course explores financial management, staffing, scheduling, patient flow, resource management, and crisis handling. By the end, participants will apply budgeting concepts, manage resources, ensure health and safety compliance, and develop effective operational strategies for clinical teams.
    Nursing Education 3
    Assessment and Evaluation
    Start Date: Apr 14, 2025
    End Date: June 22, 2025 
    This 10-week online course builds foundational knowledge in education assessment and evaluation for nursing education in practice settings. Participants will explore evidence-based program evaluation, integrate assessment methods into education plans, and examine various tools. They will develop systematic evaluation practices and, by course end, will compare evaluation concepts, create purpose-driven assessments, assemble a portfolio of tools, and select methods matching learning outcomes. Additionally, participants will implement methods for continuous competency development, address assessment challenges, and apply evaluation to organizational needs like quality assurance and accreditation. They will also learn to share successful practices and formulate evaluation plans for nursing education programs.
    Care of the Hospitalized Adult 3
    Start Date: Apr 14, 2025
    End Date: June 8, 2025
    This 8-week online course, with 7 weeks of material and 1 week for a final exam, focuses on the nurse practitioner's role in acute care hospitals. Topics include neurology, diabetes, wound care, older adult care, end of life care, and MAID. Prerequisites: must be a registered Nurse Practitioner or a student in a nurse practitioner program. Ideal for Nurse Practitioners looking to enhance their skills in mental health and addictions care, participants will learn to articulate NP roles, discuss scope issues, identify necessary skills, and practice independently. The course covers advanced health assessments, differential diagnoses, red flags, diagnostics, treatment strategies, technical interventions, consultations, communication, and secondary prevention. Upon completion, learners will confidently manage acute conditions in hospitalized adults.
    Care of the Hospitalized Adult 4

    This 8-week online course focuses on the role of nurse practitioners in acute care hospital settings, covering areas like hematology, sepsis, gastrointestinal issues, acute allergic reactions, rheumatology, mobility, nutrition, and swallowing. Designed for Nurse Practitioners aiming to enhance their skills in mental health and addiction care, the course will help participants articulate NP roles in hospitals, develop diagnostic reasoning, and manage a variety of acute conditions in adults. Upon completion, learners will be able to conduct advanced health assessments, develop differential diagnoses, recognize red flags, and choose appropriate diagnostic and treatment strategies.
    Mental Health 3 for Nurse Practitioners

    This online 8-week course emphasizes the role of nurse practitioners in mental health and addiction, covering aspects like trauma, personality disorders, ADHD, palliative approaches, and corrections. It offers a lifespan-wide, hands-on approach to mental health and addiction issues, focusing on critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills. The course provides insights from clinical experts on various facets such as advanced health assessment, differential diagnoses, pathophysiology, patient triaging, diagnostic methods, choosing suitable interventions and treatments, and effective communication strategies for managing care transitions.
    Mental Health 4 for Nurse Practitioners

    This 8-week online course covers the role of nurse practitioners in mental health and addiction care, focusing on disorders like substance abuse, eating disorders, and sleep issues. Using an interactive and case-based approach, the course emphasizes critical thinking and clinical reasoning. Clinical experts will discuss health assessment, differential diagnoses, relevant pathophysiology, red flags, and patient triage. The course also covers diagnostic tests, treatment selection, indications for consultation, and effective communication strategies for managing patient care transitions.

It targets those starting or aspiring to leadership in healthcare, covering acute care, community, primary health care, and long-term care settings. Participants will explore strategies for professional practice, leader/manager responsibilities for quality and safety, quality indicators, change management, and quality improvement. By the end, participants will understand the leader/manager role in advancing practice, leading patient care, addressing quality and safety, and managing change in healthcare settings.
