    Care of the Hospitalized Adult 2  September 15 - November 16, 2025

    Participants will focus on developing diagnostic reasoning and therapeutic planning skills in the context of managing acute patient presentations in hospital settings in the following clinical areas:
    • Respirology
    • Acid-base and electrolyte abnormalities
    • Renal dysfunction (acute and chronic)
    • Gastrointestinal issues
    • Mental health and substance use

    Nursing Education 1: Theoretical Perspectives and Context September 22 - November 30, 2025

    Focuses on the development of education theory and pedagogical issues relevant to nursing education in the practice setting.

    Leadership & Management 1: Role, Competencies, and Context September 22 - November 23, 2025

    Designed for those starting careers in or aspiring towards leadership positions in health care. New for 2025-2026 the certificate program has been revised as three 9-week courses from the previous four 6-week courses. Click the link for more details!

    Mental Health 1 for Nurse Practitioners October 6 - November 30, 2025

    Focuses on the following areas:
    • Acute/crisis/emergent care considerations including the provision of virtual care
    • Anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorders
    • Considerations for the care of clients who are indigenous as well as those who may be homeless, immigrants or refugees

    Mental Health 4 for Nurse Practitioners October 6 - November 30, 2025

    Focuses in the context of care in the following areas:
    • Substance-related and addictive disorders
    • The use of:
      • Stimulants and benzodiazepines
      • Opioids
      • Alcohol
      • Cannabis
      • Feeding and eating disorders
      • Sleep/wake disorders.   

    Palliative Care 1: Approach to Care and Communication Skills October 20 - November 30, 2025

    Focuses on the role of the nurse practitioner in applying a palliative approach to care within any practice setting. Participants will be introduced to the core competencies for palliative care that can be applied across the continuum from diagnosis to end of life.
