This webinar will review strategies for enhancing effective documentation and communication through the health care record. We will review approaches to both verbal communication and written documentation that enable NPs to fulfil their obligations under the College of Nurses’ of Ontario’s professional standards, including its Documentation, Code of Conduct and Nurse Practitioner standards.

This session will also review lessons and strategies for improving documentation arising from medical-legal claims and College proceedings. This session will also cover communication and documentation strategies directed at avoiding and/or reducing the risk of a poor outcome in the event of a College, client or other complaint, and documenting in a way that supports a defence if concerns arise.
